And toast will take over the world…

The One and I were fortunate enough to get hold of some excellent seats for a comedian that we have become fans of. I’m talking of Eddie Izzard of course and his 46664 tour of South Africa. We drove to the CTICC and arrived in time to have a few leisurely pre-awesomeness drinks. Besides the extremely entertaining art of people watching… a commotion was brewing outside. It turns out that the sign on top of the Cullinan Southern Sun, Cape Town CBD, had caught alight.

Here we can see the heat dissipating source.

Parts of the sign, black material of some kind, began to feel the faint tug of gravity. Below the sign you find some prime examples of flora in need of liquid nourishment. Some of the palms caught alight, and one brave employee did what needed to be done. He climbed the flag pole, where someone threw up a fire extinguisher.

Well the pre-show was pretty much over by the time the fire brigade arrived, and so it was time to go and enjoy some humour. I was impressed with the Auditorium at the CTICC, comfortable seats. I highly recommend row 8, it puts you at eye level with the performer. Thanks to Twitter, and especially @CathrynR for tweeting about the gig minutes after it went live on Computicket.

Eddie Izzard was brilliant. Apparently there were some people that left the show, pity. I would definitely recommend his show, and will definitely see the next one. How he puts some of the bits together is astounding, turning something as mundane as making toast into a truly great laugh. Two things that you should know about toast, A) they will be taking over the world and marmalade will be our best defence, B) you should always have stiff “manly” toast, not toast that has been leaning against a radiator for 5 seconds. Which is frankly a damp squid…

Right, off to the shops in search of marmalade…

Do you feel lucky …

A day comes when you experience the joy of freedom… the end of the taxi days. No longer having to be driven around. If there is a need for milk… you now have the power. The One was recently awarded her ticket to this freedom. Along with this freedom comes the shear terror for me though… my baby will be driven by another. So dear reader, this may be the final entry in this blog… for I am destined to curl up into a ball…

The Ones First Drive Alone

The One showing us how it is done. So… proud of you baby.
